National Sewing Machine Day! #redthread
Today is National Sewing Machine Day, I love all of mine. Get your machines out and create something.
My first sewing machine was a 1950/60's Singer 401G, which I still have. I inherited it at the tender age of 9, from my Grandmother, who was a tailoress and I still use it today. I made all my early creations on it, my school bags, my clothes, my wedding dress, upholstery, soft furnishings. Children need to be encouraged to be creative and use their brains and hands. They say that necessity is the mother of invention, that is so true in my case, when you have few possessions you have to be creative. Back in the day I made clothes out of linen curtains!
